what your teens Will be Learning about for
Confirmation (Year 2)?The Theme for the second year is The Commission of Disciples. Just like how it was at Pentecost, Confirmation is more than just a ceremony or celebration but it is the time where Jesus is sending us out as disciples to go be priests, prophets and kings. Our goal is to form the teens and remind them that Jesus has a purpose for each and every one of them for their life. Teach them the way of Discipleship and leading them towards a vocation that God has in store for them. Teaching the teens how to use the gifts of the Holy Spirit that God has in store and has promised them to go build up God's Church and God's People. To Be a Saint!
Our Confirmation Program starting next year will consist of a two steps of success towards a good faith formation for your teens.
Second Year of Confirmation Lesson Plan:
We will be going over on who is God, The Holy Trinity and what the Holy Spirit want us to do as disciples of Christ and what does it actually means to live a life of a Disciple of Christ where we are living in the world, but we are not of the world. We will be going over the Passion of Christ, The Pentecost, and how the early Disciples build up The Catholic Church, what it means to imitate Christ, helping teens getting to Jesus through Mary and St. Joseph, the life of the Saints, teaching the teens the foundational life of prayers, fasting, and penance, and also have an active life of ministry in Marian Youth Army for the teens.
Second Year Requirement in order to get Confirmed:
- Attend Confirmation class on Sunday (educational classroom settings).
- Serving as Disciples in Youth Ministry (St. Albert's Youth Marian Army) on Sunday at 2:00PM in Mt. Carmel Hall
(a more active way for teens to learn and live out the faith)
- Service Hour (Mass, Altar Server, Ushers, Serve in Praise and Worship Team, Join Youth Choir, etc.)
- Confirmation II weekend retreat
- Attend Youth Ministry in-church retreat (weekend lock-in at Mt. Carmel Hall)
- Grow in Faith and Union with God over the year through a life of participation in Parish Life.
